Guilherme V. Polanczyk is Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of São Paulo Medical School, Brazil. He directs the Early Diagnosis and Interventions Program and the Child & Adolescent Inpatient Unit at the Institute of Psychiatry of Hospital das Clinicas, University of São Paulo. He is interested in understanding how ADHD and associated neurodevelopmental disorders emerge and how to intervene early in life to improve children’s lives. He is also interested in how to develop effective and scalable interventions to promote early childhood development and to prevent child and adolescent mental disorders in the population. To accomplish these goal, his research team is focused on following clinical and community cohorts, developing new interventions, as well as testing interventions through randomized controlled trials.
