Overview

The perinatal and infant mental health two-day conference will seek to explore:

  • Perinatal mental illness, including early diagnosis and evidence-based intervention, with particular reference to the development of clinical guidelines for further service development in Malta
  • The relationship between maternal mental health and parent-child attachment
  • Factors that impact maternal and infant mental health including child temperament; health and wellbeing (parent and child); the couple relationship; and family support
  • Best practice in relation to adoption support interventions, promote improved emotion regulation and mental health
  • Early assessment, diagnosis and intervention of autism in young children
  • Restricted and repetitive behaviours in young children, with and without autism
