Social Bookmarking Policy

The ACAMH social networking accounts are managed by ACAMH staff.

If you follow us, you can expect at least 5 posts a month covering some or all of the following:

  • Alerts about new content on the ACAMH website
  • Invitations to provide feedback on specific issues
  • Information from our regional Branches about what they’re doing
  • Coverage of events
  • Other news related to the CAMH community

Following

If you follow us we will not automatically follow you back. This is to discourage the use of direct messaging, avoid resource wasting spam handling and in the case of Twitter so that you can easily identify other key Twitter users that we think are relevant and who we follow.

Being followed by us does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Availability

We will update and monitor our social networking accounts during office hours, Monday to Friday, although you may find the odd update appearing outside of these hours.

These accounts may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to downtime.

Replies and Direct Messages

We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and endeavour to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via these accounts.

The team managing the accounts endeavors to read all replies and direct messages and ensures that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people within the organisation.

As a membership based organisation we cannot engage on issues relating to members of the public and/or patients and are unable to offer an advice or information service of this kind to the public. However the following organisations may be able to help further:

  • NHS Choices (www.choices.nhs.uk) provide information for patients.
  • Young Minds, 48-50 St Johns Street, London EC1M 4 DG; tel 02073368445; www.youngminds.org.uk
  • British Psychological Society, St Andrews House, 48 Princess Road East, Leicester LE1 7DR; tel 01162549568
  • Youth in Mind, www.youthinmind.co.uk ; if you look under “finding services” and click on a particular area, then it will bring up a list
