The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) is delighted to announce that Professor Tamsin Ford has been awarded the ACAMH President’s Medal 2026, recognising her outstanding contribution to child and adolescent mental health research, policy, education, and clinical practice.
The ACAMH President’s Medal is one of the Association’s highest honours, presented to individuals who have made an exceptional impact on the understanding, prevention, and treatment of mental health difficulties experienced by children and young people.
Professor Ford is internationally recognised for her pioneering research into children’s mental health, service delivery, neurodevelopmental conditions, and evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes for young people and families. Her work has helped shape policy, influence practice, and improve services both in the UK and internationally.
Accepting the award, Professor Tamsin Ford said: “I am deeply honoured to receive the ACAMH President’s Medal, particularly as I have really valued working with and for the association over two decades. All my work aims to improve the lives of children, young people, and their families through better evidence, better services, and better collaboration between young people and their families, with researchers, clinicians, educators, and policymakers. I am extremely grateful to the many people who have supported and shaped my work. This award reflects our collective efforts to advance child and adolescent mental health.”
The award was presented at the ACAMH Awards 2026 on Thursday 5 November at an online ceremony, which celebrate excellence in evidence-based practice, research, innovation, and leadership across the field of child and adolescent mental health.
Professor Ford’s enduring commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people continues to inspire professionals across disciplines and exemplifies the values at the heart of ACAMH’s mission.
