CME for Reviewers – Be Recognised for Peer Review with ACAMH journals

The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with publishing partners Wiley, now offers continuing medical education (CME) credit for peer review of manuscripts submitted to all three journals, The Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry (JCPP), the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) journal, and JCPP Advances.

Not only is peer reviewing essential in maintaining research integrity and quality, it also provides you with the opportunity to increase your knowledge of developments in the field of child and adolescent mental health.

CME credits for peer review manuscripts are approved by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and are internationally recognised for quality and ethical standards.

Prabha Choubina, ACAMH Publications Director, said; “CME credit scheme for reviewers of our journals not only recognises their contribution to the peer review process but also helps them in their own practice. We are pleased to hear from the reviewers who have commented on the behavioural changes they are making based on the review activity.”

Professor Henrik Larsson, JCPP Advances Editor in Chief, said; “CME credit is one of many ways JCPP Advances recognises reviewer’s contribution. I encourage researchers and practitioners to consider reviewing for the journal and claiming the CME credit.”

It is important to note that:

  • Peer reviewers may request 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per original manuscript being reviewed.
  • Reviewers may only claim CME credit once per manuscript.
  • Credit claims for additional rounds of review will not be awarded.
  • You should only claim credit appropriate with the extent of your participation in the peer review process.

How can you submit a request for CME credit?

To submit a request for CME credit, you must, as the manuscript reviewer, complete the required CME questions within your review submission form online. Following submission, your request for credit will be processed. Please note that requests for CME credit are only possible during the initial submission of your review.

When will I get my CME credit certificate?

If your request is approved, a certificate will be issued via email. Please note these are done on a monthly basis and there may be a delay. A copy of your certificate will be also held on file by the accredited provider for later access.

If a replacement copy of your certificate is required, of if you have any further questions regarding receiving CME credits for peer review of manuscripts, please contact the accredited provider.
